(Okay, before I begin, I totally just realized I missed a song. Shame on me!)
- "Konstantine" by Something Corporate (&click;)
This song is epic...that's really the only word I can think of to describe it. Nine and a half minutes of epic proportions. It's like...what kind of girl do you have to be to have a guy write a nine and a half minute love song about you? And such a gorgeous one at that? I always wanted to see this song live--it was like my ultimate fantasy. However, for a long time, I didn't think it would ever happen because SC hadn't done anything musical in years. But last year they went on a reunion tour and I was able to see them in Hollywood. (It's still the best concert I've been to to date.) And there I was finally able to see this fantasy come true. Seeing that song in person, seeing Andrew McMahon singing this song and rocking out on his piano...it might be the best moment of my life. CHEEEEESY. - "For Blue Skies" by Strays Don't Sleep (hehe)
Okay. Here it is guys. This is my favorite song. Ever. By far. There are so many songs I love in the world, but for me, this is it. I first heard this song on an episode of One Tree Hill, and I fell in love with it instantly. From those four notes to that constant beat to the duet to the lyrics to everything. This song also gave me the inspiration for the series of novels I am attempting to write. I can have this song on repeat for hours, for days and never tire of it. Listen and love. (Fun fact: The novel I'm writing? The names of the main characters are Mason and Mackenzie. I got those names from a guy I met on the Internet back in 2008; his name was, of course, Mason Mackenzie. I was a little bit in love with him. Weirdly enough, he was the one to introduce me to Bon Iver! Sooooo Mason.) - "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap (isn't it weird that he's Asian?)
Okay, we've all heard this song. If you haven't, you actually probably have or you've been living under a rock for the last few years. This song is just fabulous. (500) Days of Summer is where it first debuted (I think.) (That's a great movie, by the way. You should watch it.) It's so catchy and fun to listen to, and it's one of the more upbeat songs on this lovely list.
That's all, folks! Come again soon.
