- The KaBridge: This girl, srsly. I don't know what I'd do without her. Well, I wouldn't have a ride to or from la escuela, morning rants about how much we hate Mondays, someone to talk to about how many freaking people there were at Starbucks this morning, a pal during our four-hour expository writing (it only seems fitting that I now abbreviate that to E.W.) class or the newly created phrase, "Kakapos slams." (Thanks iTouch auto-correct for that one.)
- The Delicious Bacon & Gouda Breakfast Sandwich from Starbucks: It's official. I'm that girl. Kate and I usually make a SB run at least twice a week. She gets her coffee, I get my hot chocolate, and we're ready for the day! That sandwich was a "tasty toasty" (KaBridge, 2011).
- Some Feedback: I got back the first paper I wrote for Cal State. It was just a creative writing piece, but I was still excited to see the A written on the second page! My teacher said I was a "lovely writer" and a lot of other nice things. I also wrote a report for my E.W. class about how to successfully BS a paper, and my teacher read my first draft and told me she loved my sense of humor! See?! I am funny!
- Two Conversations:
1. Okay, so some exposition. If you've ever been to my house, you'll know that my street really isn't a true street. It's a dismal road next to an empty field; there are no streetlights and only four houses. (Nevertheless, I love it.) Anyway, the point is that it's a PERFECT street for couples to come to for parking. Not that I would know from experience or anything... :] So, I was telling my dad that on Saturday night, there was a car parked on our street, and it's kind of tradition to shine our lights at them or honk and that's exactly what Leanne did! The conversation went as follows:
Dad: What were they doing?
Me: What do you think they were doing, Papa?
Dad: Watching the submarine races.
Me: Huh?
Dad: That's what people used to say. They'd go up and park at the lake. They used to say they were watching the submarine races.
I FREAKING DIED. I have never, ever heard that phrase before, but I'm totally going to use it all the time now! Thanks, Papa!
2. This one's short. I got home from school, and I was talking to my mom in the office. She was doing some work that required her to do something with a lot of papers.
Mom: UGH! I need a thing!
Dad and I: A thing!
Mom: A thing to hold up these papers!
Dad: You really need to get a thing.
Mom: Oh, shut up.
Me: Mom, I just can't believe you haven't gotten a thing yet.
If you ever wonder why I love my family so much, the above conversation is why. - THE NEW M83 ALBUM: Oh my goodness freaking gracious great balls of FIRE. No words can express how great this CD is. It's catchy and gorgeous and just freakin' EPIC. So happy right now, guysth.
Love y'all. Night!

So I've never considered myself an avid M83 / Anthony Gonzalez fan...but this new album...its pretty stinkin' amazing, I may be a convert. And thank you that every review of the album I've read refers to this album as 'epic'
Isn't it?? I love me some Anthony Gonzalez...I'd marry him if I could.
PS: I was going to talk to you on Sunday if it hadn't been for that totally weird moment in the hall. I don't know if you thought it was awkward...but you will now! Anyway, we definitely need to talk on Sunday...we can discuss our ridiculous snobbery for music.
I'm generally an awkward uncomfortable person so there is really no avoiding that.
Also I don't know if 'we' can be music snobs. Me for sure, but you did admit a love of Dashboard and that disqualifies you immediately. (How music snob is that of me?)
Ouch, Mr. Holman! Everyone has their guilty pleasures, right? Mine just happens to be a guy with chops playing an acoustic guitar and whining about how a girl cheated on him. And doesn't the rest of my impeccable music taste make up for this small flaw?
