story time

When I was either 13 or 14 years of age, my sister made a certain mix CD. Those were the days where we shared a room, and most of the time I was listening to the music she was listening to. A few songs were on that CD that I always remembered. One I was able to find out the name of, but then there was another that I could not find to save my life. It was a synthesizer, and it was gorgeous, but the thing I remembered most was the rain. The entire song had a background of pouring rain. For years and years, I searched everywhere to find the name of the song. I asked my sister, my brothers, and I even used to type on Google search things like "pretty rain song." Of course, nothing ever came up. It was heartbreaking.
And then one day, probably 3-4 years later, I was on a friend of mine's MySpace account (oh goodness, MySpace...an old friend), and she had one of those music playlists on her profile. One of the songs was called The Sailor by The Album Leaf, and since I adored the band, I decided to listen to that one. Lo and behold, after years of looking desperately for the song, I had finally found it. And the whole time it was by a band I listened to almost daily.
After finding it, I felt so stupid. Of course it was by The Album Leaf. It all made so much sense. Anyway, here is that lovely song that I will never, ever again lose.
